Since the Gulf of Mexico has now moved inland, I decided to paint inside. Scenes around the house in interesting light always attract me to paint them. This one was one of those. Time of day more towards the evening on an overcast day with light coming through the south facing window onto the washer.
Our utility room is quite big and had a nice area to setup just in view of the doorway and lucky to have had a light to light up my palette and painting as I painted without causing in more added light to the scene I wanted to paint.
Have you ever dreamed of discovering treasure at the beach? Walking along the shore and finding a gold doubloon, Spanish piece of eight, or even better some jewelry. Oh yeah, I have. In fact did a little metal detecting before only to find coins of modern day. For those who haven't found anything yet, this is a really nice find. If you are familiar with Galveston I'll give you a clue at where to find it.
Gossip can get around pretty quick, more so in a small town. Miss Jenny, the one who's always chewing Double Fruit gum and twirling her hair and works as a cashier at the supermarket, is now the talk of the town. Rumor has it she enjoys sunbathing topless in her backyard. But don't take my word for it. Ask, Chris the shortstop on The Bombers little league team who heard it from Sam the barber who heard it from.... you get the idea, rumors.
